"I'm over it - and IT is ME." In essence, it is a declaration of intention.
Normally when we hear the phrase I'm over it, we are referring to the fact that we are done caring about the political mess, or the economic mess, or my marriage mess, or my job situation mess --- "I'm (so) over it." In other words, to heck with it all, I'm going to just focus on me.
Well, we're flipping the phrase on its head.
My natural tendencies lead me to a life all about me. The culture only reinforces that me-first, narcissistic priority. I'm Over It is a declaration that I'm tired of living that way. I know that is not the life God intends for me. And, it only leads to a constantly striving yet never satisfied life. So I don't want it to be about me anymore.
I want to offer myself with all my imperfections to God to be used as a conduit for His love to flow to other people. I want to prefer others and love them as much as I love myself. And I want to do it for HIM! That is the goal of the true Jesus follower.
Please don't misunderstand ... I'm not all the way there yet. I haven't got it all figured out. But I have declared my true heart's intention.
"I'm over it - and IT is ME!" It just feels right, doesn't it? Why not consider getting Over It.
